F-gas Regulation (EU) 2024/573 — refrigerant certification I–IV
What is it?
The EU law on fluorinated greenhouse gases (replacing 517/2014). Anyone installing, servicing or recovering refrigerants needs a personal certificate: category I (all activities) down to IV (leak checking only). It also drives the phase-down towards natural refrigerants.
What evidence should a candidate have?
Personal F-gas certificate stating the category and issuing body — without it, touching refrigerant circuits is illegal.
Why it matters for staffing
Heat-pump and cooling demand is exploding; a candidate with F-gas cat. I is immediately billable, one without cannot legally do the core work.
