DGUV 209-093 — high-voltage qualification for EV work

What is it?

The German (de-facto European) qualification scheme for working on electric and hybrid vehicles: level S/E (awareness), 1S/1E (supervised work), 2S/2E (work on de-energised HV systems) and 3S/3E (live HV components, batteries).

What evidence should a candidate have?

Certificate stating the exact level (e.g. 2S) and issuer; OEM EV trainings count as strong supporting evidence.

Why it matters for staffing

EV service demand is exploding while HV-qualified mechanics are rare — a documented level 2S/3S candidate is gold for any workshop client.
