Directive 2005/36/EC & RegProf — regulated professions
What is it?
The EU system for recognising professional qualifications across borders. Some professions (nurses, some electrical roles) are “regulated”: you need a specific qualification recognised by the host country's competent authority. The Commission's RegProf database lists which profession is regulated where.
What evidence should a candidate have?
Diploma, national register entry or licence, and any recognition decision already obtained. WorkerProof only verifies documents — it never predicts recognition.
Why it matters for staffing
Placing someone into a regulated role without recognition is illegal for the client. Always check RegProf for the target country before promising a start date.
