Rigger & signaller — slinging loads and crane signalling
What is it?
National certificates (grounded in Directive 2009/104/EC) for the people who attach loads and guide crane drivers: sling types and WLL, angle effects, inspection of chains and belts, standard hand/radio signals.
What evidence should a candidate have?
Rigger and/or signaller certificate with date; references with heavy or complex lifts (tandem lifts, turning) show real depth.
Why it matters for staffing
Every crane needs a certified rigger — placing operator plus rigger as a pair doubles the deal and is exactly what sites ask for.
