ISO 3691-1 · 2009/104/ESLogistics & machinery
Forklift licence — national certificates, ISO 3691-1, Dir. 2009/104/EC
What is it?
Forklift driving requires documented training under national rules (Staplerschein in Germany, NPK in Slovenia), grounded in the EU work-equipment Directive 2009/104/EC; ISO 3691-1 sets the trucks' safety requirements. Reach trucks and high-rack trucks are separate competences.
What evidence should a candidate have?
Forklift certificate with date and truck types, plus employer confirmation of daily practice (rack heights, loads).
Why it matters for staffing
“Drives a forklift” without a certificate is a red flag — the client would be liable. Certified high-rack/reach-truck drivers are the scarce, premium profile.
