ISO 9712 — NDT personnel certification (levels 1–3)
What is it?
Certifies the people who test welds: per method (VT, PT, MT, RT, UT) and level — 1 (performs), 2 (interprets and reports) and 3 (designs programmes, supervises). Issued by accredited bodies with strict recertification.
What evidence should a candidate have?
ISO 9712 certificate listing method, level, sector and validity — a welder holding VT2 or an inspector with UT2 is documented, not self-declared.
Why it matters for staffing
A welder-plus-VT2 candidate can self-check production and sign inspection records — two roles in one hire, a strong upsell to clients.
